The Municipal Corporation supports rapprochement among European towns, as an initiative to unite European countries. In short, it builds a more culturally connected community, which begins at City Hall.

In this sense, the city of Castellón was twined with the city of Chatellerault, France on February 27, 1987, thanks to its promoter, Councilman Miguel Bellido Ribés.

Since then, Castellón's municipal delegation and French officials exchange formal visits, as well as collaborate on the existing linguistic and cultural agreements. Habitually, our city's representatives are invited to Chatellerault whenever an important event takes place there, while the French delegation is invited to our Festival of Mary Magdalene, which is held in honor of our city's founding.

Castellón's Consistory has the intention of continue increasing this type of socio-cultural exchanges with the purpose of continuing to build Europe.
