The Mediterranean dunes and woods offer a natural space for leisure and recreation. This ambitious project includes 1,800 metre long path along the beach that allows visitors to walk very close to the sea.
Topography is the key element in order to achieve the landscape objectives of the Parque Litoral (Coastal Park). The characteristic ups and downs of the dunes on Valencia's beaches will be recreated and at the same time, it will establish a path through the park. These dunes will protect the trees inside the park from the marine wind, in addition to creating the green spaces. There will be two types of dunes, those formed by sand on the beach that can reach 2.5 metres high and inland dunes formed by topsoil, whose function will be to hide the parking area redirect the pedestrian access to the beach. Those who walk along the beach can see exotic alternating images of palm trees and vegetation as well as breathtaking views of the sea.
Contrary to what one can think, El Litoral is not at odds with the urban utility, nor does it limit the conveniences of beach-goers. The parking lots will be increased to accommodate around 680 vehicles. This area is also well connected to public transportation, which is increased during the summer months.
