There is an excellent example of this type of building on the street Antonio Maura. A total of seven bakeries are documented in the city of Castellón. It can be assumed that they reflect the typical layout of this type of building. A rectangular room built with a diaphragm arch system that is covered with wood and with the oven located at the head or to the side of the building.
Forn de Reus (Bakery of Reus) or Forn de la Judería (Bakery of the Jewish Quarter), on Antonio Maura street, have the previously cited layout. Considerably transformed at present, they have only one grand stone pointed arch, parallel to the façade and starting from the floor.
From another bakery, Forn de Forés (Forés Bakery), on the street Barraca and dating back to1398, we can see that the location of the two pointed arches varied, in this case, they rested on two interior columns and on a buttress next to the façade which formed to large spaces.
